If your teen is considering getting a summer job, there are many opportunities right here in Columbia Town Center.

Summer break will be here before you know it, and it won’t take long before the lack of structure causes your teen to become bored and unmotivated.

Consider this an opportunity: A summer job can alleviate boredom, and the extra spending money can provide an important look into financial independence. Your child will also gain valuable experience in the working world to prepare them for the future. If your teen is considering getting a job this summer, there are many opportunities right here in Columbia Town Center. Keep reading to learn more!

Summer Jobs Teach the Value of Money

The most obvious benefit of a summer job is your teen earning their own money. This gives them a sense of accomplishment and responsibility. From earning to spending to saving, they’ll learn important lessons in money management. They will also feel more independent and empowered.

Summer Jobs Provide a New Perspective

Summer jobs can give teens insight into what they may want to do after high school. They may discover they really enjoy working with groups of people, or perhaps they learn they’d rather work on their own. They may enjoy working with their hands more than in an office environment.

A summer job can also offer perspective and a new-found respect for roles they never thought about before. They may become more patient, understanding, and thoughtful when interacting with customer service workers, as they may have been in their shoes while they worked their summer jobs.

CA Aquatics is Hiring Lifeguards

Does your teen love to swim and stay active? If so, a lifeguard job may be perfect for them. Columbia Association is looking for new lifeguards and pool managers in the community. CA team members enjoy flexible hours, a fun work environment, competitive pay, and a free CA Fit&Play membership — including pools, gyms, and so much more!

Applicants must be 15 by May 24th, 2024, and they will be asked to swim a 200-yard swim (8 lengths), retrieve a ten-pound brick from the diving well (feet first), and tread water for two minutes. Apply here if interested.
