Summer is just around the corner, Columbia! The days are getting longer, the temperature is warming, and kids will be out of school soon. Summer is also the perfect time to get outside and have fun with friends and family. Living in Columbia gives you access to many fun activities and events throughout the year. Historic Oakland’s Summer Craft Market
Come out and join your neighbors at the Historic Oakland on Saturday, June 8, 2025, from 10 AM – 3 PM for the 2025 Summer Craft Fair. Spread throughout the entire Manor House and tent, you will find crafters of all sorts with a variety of handmade goods!
This is a perfect opportunity to find the perfect gift for that special someone—even if that someone happens to be yourself! Attendance is FREE. However, we ask that you kindly bring a non-perishable food item to keep our Town Center Food Pantry well stocked through the summer months! Click here to register.
Lakefront Live Summer Block Party
Kick off the summer Lakefront Live season in the best way possible! Head down to the Downtown Columbia Lakefront for free kids’ activities, food trucks, free ice cream (while supplies last) and a spectacular performance by Shamarr Allen, produced by Merriweather Arts and Culture Center (MACC).

Hooked on Fishing!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to fish? Learn from professionals at Lake Kit in downtown Columbia! Spend a summer evening at Lake Kittamaquandi in downtown Columbia learning to fish with trained professionals! Then try out your new skills and luck at catch-and-release fishing! Take a Dip at CA Pools
No matter how you prefer to make a splash, the Columbia Association guarantees water fun for the whole family. CA’s aquatic facilities provide year-round pools for recreational swimming and laps, swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, aqua fitness classes, and competitive swim leagues (Columbia Clippers, Columbia Masters, and our summer swim league). You can even rejuvenate in their warm water therapy pool.
All CA Play memberships include access to outdoor pools during the summer and the Columbia Swim Center’s indoor pools to keep you splashing, sliding and swimming all year long.
