There are so many things to do and see in the beautiful town of Columbia. And Town Center residents are in the middle of it all. Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean the fun stops. There is always something fun happening in the neighborhood or around Columbia for residents to enjoy. Here are a few fun events to start off the new year with. Keep reading to learn more.

Town Center Photo/Video Contest

Columbia Town Center wants to see your creative side! Engage your right brain and create some awesome content. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or any holiday, send us your best work of Columbia Town Center. Just send your entry form and photo or video to: [email protected].

Rules:

  • Photo Files: must be at least 1MB in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Video Files: These must be no longer than three minutes long and shot at 1080 dpi or higher quality.
  • Entry Deadline: All entries must be received by Wednesday, 1/10/25, with a signed entry form.

Prizes will be Awarded! The photos and videos will be judged, and the winners will be announced in our Enewsletter in January 2025.

Wonderland of Art at Artists’ Gallery in Ellicott City

The Artists’ Gallery of Ellicott City is an artist-owned gallery on Main Street in historic Ellicott City, Maryland. Artwork for sale includes ceramics, wood turning, inlaid wood, kilnformed glass, paintings, photography, mixed media, and digital illustration. 

Stop by to find something that will warm your heart this winter! The local artists create work in many media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, turned wood objects, fused glass, ceramics, collage, encaustic photography, and more. Smooth Jazz Fridays with Kim Maiden Music

The Harriet Tubman Cultural Center is hosting Smooth Jazz Fridays with Kim Maiden Music. Doors open at 6 pm, and music starts at 7 pm. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Limited childcare is available for ages 5-11. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Click here to register.

Ice Skating at Merriweather

The Color Burst Ice Rink is returning to Merriweather District Nov 22, 2024 – Jan 31, 2025. Click here for single tickets, or click here for season passes. Ice rink hours are as follows:

  • Sunday: 12 PM – 8 PM
  • Monday – Thursday: 4 PM – 9 PM
  • Friday: 4 PM – 10 PM
  • Saturday: 12 PM – 10 PM

$12 per person + tax, rentals, and reservation fee

$3 ice skate rentals

Children’s skate-aids are available to rent for $5 for your 75-minute skate period (cash and credit card accepted).
