It’s officially winter, which means the holidays are around the corner! The days are getting shorter, the temperatures are dropping, and we’ve already had some snow! Columbia Town Center is excited to unite the community for the holidays and bring everyone together for some festive fun. Many holiday events are happening this month in Columbia Town Center and throughout Howard County. Here are some holiday events you can look forward to.
Howard County Holiday Lights
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than decorating your house with lights, tinsel, and snowmen! Many Howard County residents have decorated their homes and yards and want to share the holiday cheer with the whole neighborhood. You can use the Howard County Holiday Lights Map to find creative and elegant Christmas lights and decorations across Town Center.
You are also welcome to add your own home to the map if you wish. Our festive neighbors wanting to share their display are encouraged to register as early as possible. To put your home, business, or community holiday lights display on the map, fill out an online registration.
CA Holiday Art Exhibit
Columbia Association Art Center Galleries presents our annual Singular Sensations Holiday Art Exhibition featuring handmade art priced at $300 or less. Includes functional and decorative pottery, small paintings, jewelry, glass, fiber, and more. This is a perfect way to get your holiday shopping done while supporting small, local businesses!

Candle Making Class
Join us for a Relaxing Evening of Candle Making at Historic Oakland. Indulge in a delightful evening at Historic Oakland, where you can unwind with a glass of wine or a warm, snuggly beverage. Tap into your inner artist as we explore the captivating world of candle making in this in-person event. Participants will be guided by our expert from Candles by Candy, who will walk you through the basics of candle making and the candle-making process. Learn how to blend fragrance oils to create your own unique scent and melt and pour wax to create your very own special candle to use for yourself or to gift to a special friend or family member.
Take the opportunity to learn a new skill! Save the date and join us at Historic Oakland for an afternoon filled with creativity, mingle with friends, family or new friends!
