County Budget Hearings

The next Residents Budget Hearing will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 6:00 pm. Residents who wish to speak at the hearing can sign up online here. Speakers must sign up individually, and no one person may sign up for multiple testifiers. Additionally, individual testimony is limited to three minutes, while group testimony is limited to five minutes.

Residents can also submit online budget testimony through the same link. Residents are reminded that online testimony is considered public information and, as such, is subject to the Maryland Public Information Act.

If you have any questions and/or problems registering for the Budget Hearing, please contact the Budget Office at 410-313-2077 between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. When we work together as a community to set our spending priorities, we will continue to remain resilient in the face of any challenges that may emerge and always emerge stronger in the end.

Community Meeting: Natural Resource Plan For Columbia

Town Center residents are invited to participate in a Community Meeting to help the Columbia Association develop a comprehensive Natural Resource Management Plan (NRMP) to guide the long-term stewardship of our community’s natural areas, including forests, streams, open spaces, and wildlife habitats. The NRMP will help protect and enhance Columbia’s ecological health while supporting recreation, education, and climate resilience.

The NRMP Community Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Historic Oakland Manor (5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia, MD 21044).

We will begin with a brief presentation, followed by small-group discussions to gather community feedback. Interactive comment stations will be available throughout the evening. Participants are welcome to join us for the full program or drop in at any time. RSVP here.

Howard County Arts and Culture Survey

The Arts and Culture Plan aims to inventory existing arts and cultural assets in the county, identify strategies to grow and engage creative resources, guide future investments in the sector, and address the changing needs of the diverse local arts and cultural communities. Additionally, this plan seeks to ensure the sustainability of the creative industry and promote economic and community development through the arts.

Through active engagement with the Howard County community, we will develop a collective vision for the role of arts and culture. This vision will build upon the existing foundation established by local organizations and creators previously outlined in the Howard County Arts Roadmap. This plan will define a community-driven strategy for arts and culture in the region, aligning with and strengthening Howard County’s critical priority areas. Click here to fill out the survey.
