Their calendar features the best in rock, country, rhythm and blues, pop, jazz, hip-hop, alternative, electronica and classical. So there’s bound to be something for everyone. You can catch your favorite band or artist during the Spring/Summer season, and Merriweather also hosts kid-friendly events that are fun for the whole family.
Go Shopping at Columbia Mall
Town Center is only a short distance from Columbia Mall, one of Howard County’s most popular shopping malls. You can enjoy a refreshing retail experience in an open-air setting and explore the high-end department and specialty shops in Columbia, MD. The Mall in Columbia offers brands like Nordstrom, H&M, Macy’s, Sephora, and more. Then, catch a movie and have dinner at one of the famous casual restaurants onsite to complete your day.
Take a Walk Through Columbia
In Columbia, there’s so much nature to explore in our own backyards. There are many beautiful walking trails and parks that are ideal for families. Most of these trails are relatively short, easy to navigate, and include kid-friendly features. The Lake Kittamaqundi loop is within walking distance of Whole Foods, the Central Library branch, Columbia Mall, and many restaurants with outdoor seating. At 1.4 miles long, it’s the perfect distance for kids to burn off energy, with a playground to play in afterward. Centennial Park has everything to make it the ideal park: lakes, wooded areas, open fields, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a playground. The trail loop around the lake is 2.6 miles long but can be modified for younger kids.
