Adult Writing Classes
If you’ve always wanted to write about an experience or memory, whether to publish, or share with family and friends, this class is for you. Sign up for 8-weekly classes on journal keeping and memoir writing presented by local resident, teacher, and writer, Dr. Jan Bowman at Historic Oakland in Town Center. All levels of writers are invited. Each two-hour class will consist of writing tips & prompts to help stimulate ideas and connect to memories that can be mined for longer memoir work.
And please note: In this series of classes we will examine the many possible forms and ways to structure your nonfiction or fictional efforts.
Class Dates: Tuesday, September 12, 19, 26 – October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, 2017, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm at Historic Oakland Manor at Columbia Town Center.
Classes are limited to the first 10-12 to register. Sign-up early because the class fills fast. Cost per class is a weekly donation of nonperishable food items that will be donated to the Howard County Food Pantry Program.
Bring your favorite pen and a food donation. Your instructor will provide you with a free journal for writing class exercises and to keep after the class.
