Community Association

Mission Statement For the Columbia Town Center Residential Community Association

To advocate for quality of life, to increase social engagement, and to foster a sense of community and safety for all in our mixed-use neighborhoods.

New Branding and Logo

Our new branding and logo was launched recently and the winning designer is a Howard County resident who used to live in Town Center. He commented on the inspiration for the design:

“I designed the contemporary logo to subtlety showcase the metropolitan and suburban character of the Town Center community of Columbia. The multicolored graphic tree symbolizes the broad and diverse people that live, work, shop, or visit the Town Center. If you closely review the solid and sturdy tree “person,” it’s supporting a foundation that’s holding up the residents and businesses of the Town Center Community Association.”

Strategic Tenets

Our Board-Approved key strategic tenets that guide our mission:

  1. Endeavor to have all members of the Columbia Town Center community be aware of the Association and all the roles it plays; a community resource, event sponsor, advocate, administrative functions, and covenant enforcement.
  2. Advocate, in a non-partisan way, for Town Center community members and their needs with the Columbia Association, Howard County, and the State of Maryland.
  3. Improve diversity, equality, equity, and inclusion of members of the Columbia Town Center community across all socio-economic and demographic categories.
  4. Prioritize affordable housing options as a key priority in the current and future development of Columbia Town Center.
  5. Maintain community safety and related programs as an integral part of the continued development of Columbia Town Center.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

We celebrate diversity and believe it’s a core part of what makes Town Center great and aligns with founder James Rouse’s vision for Columbia. The Town Center Community Association’s mission is to advocate for quality of life, to increase social engagement, and to foster a sense of community and safety for all in our mixed-use community. Our commitment to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion is central to this mission. Welcoming and engaging team members, volunteers, neighbors, partners, businesses, representatives, and guests of different backgrounds is paramount to our continued growth and success as a community.
